Oneself
"Loudest scream"
Sadness comes upon us
As a gloom over our faces,
When we are untrue to ourselves
And disconnected from within.
We smile with difficulty
Due to the pain filled in our hearts.
Putting up a brave front are we
But our hearts melting.
Along the journey of life as we go,
We search for the meaning of it
During which we lose ourselves
Leaving us with nothing but a heavy heart.
What is the purpose of life?
A thought that makes us curious evermore.
So perplexed are we,
Yet the answer so simple, being, ourselves.
Voices in our head, a constant chatter,
But lost for words while around others.
Silent we may be,
But that is our loudest scream.
Our souls filled with pain and sorrow,
Making us numb to our own selves.
Wanting to disappear, it may seem
But in reality, all we want is to be found.
